As a wedding officiant specializing in destination weddings, I initially planned to recommend this resort to my couples. However, due to the poor customer service, lack of amenities, and mismanagement, this will no longer be an option.
I stayed at the Westin Beach Resort & Spa at Frenchman's Reef in St. Thomas, and unfortunately, my experience was far below expectations. From operational inefficiencies to billing errors, this stay was riddled with issues that severely impacted my visit.
To start, there were just 13 irons available for the entire resort, with no time limits for usage. This level of unpreparedness is unacceptable for a resort of this caliber. Additionally, the resort charged me for a second reservation I never made, labeling my original Expedia reservation as a "no-show." This double charge required me to attempt to seek a refund from Expedia rather than the resort taking accountability. The comparison in pricing between Expedia's price and the resort's price was $1,000 difference, which the resort's price was more.
The Wi-Fi went down resort-wide for more than 3 hours (December 11, 2024), with no communication or alternatives offered. Representatives were unhelpful and refused to provide any form of compensation. Due to me mentioning it during my complaint, the resort offered me $100 compensation, which shows that they could've refunded me for the resort fees they charged.
