I had never checked out of a hotel early to move to another hotel until I stayed at the Galaxy. This place is understaffed, undertrained, and missing so many basic amenities that it felt more like a half-finished project than a functioning hotel.
Let’s start with the rooms—basic necessities were either missing or replaced with laughable alternatives. Instead of a proper towel rack, there was a tiny 3M Command hook stuck to the wall. The “closet” area had no real lighting, just stick-on rechargeable lights that barely did the job. There wasn’t a clock, and the ironing board was a tiny tabletop version instead of full-sized. And there’s no gym—one of the most basic amenities you’d expect in a modern hotel.
The worst part? The mattresses were downright painful. Thin, low-quality, and incredibly uncomfortable, I woke up with severe hip pain in the middle of the night. Housekeeping was another miss—due to minimal staff, rooms weren’t cleaned until after 5 PM, making it feel like an afterthought rather than a standard service.
Check-in was also a headache. I had to fill out paperwork, which made me wonder if they even had a modern system to securely store credit card information. It felt like stepping back in time to an era before electronic record-keeping.
