This is our second stay at the Pillar Inn. The first time we booked the entire house with our children for my wife’s birthday.
Sue, the innkeeper, made great conversation and truly knows what hospitality means. Jill, one of the owners, remembered our previous stay and communicates before we even did regarding breakfast allergies, etc. we were very impressed. This property has full breakfast only on weekends, just to note. They are set out beautifully with fine china. She is an amazing cook and has a very keen eye for detail.
We stayed in the Grand Suite, as we did last time. Which has a cute porch on the second level with a little bistro set. The bed is extremely comfortable (one of the main points for us) and tub is more than large enough for two adults side by side relaxing.
Another favorite a lot in the house is a little snack room with teas and popcorn, seating, a fridge, etc. it is a very nice touch to a house that’s unattended most of the evening (unlike a hotel).
The grounds are pretty and we loved the wrap around porch. The area is pretty quiet, as in not a lot of traffic due to the location, however, there is a bar next door behind a thick lot of trees. It can’t be seen, but it can be heard if people are outside. If that’s your thing, easy access. But the grounds are still large and very private.
We will be back again.
