Disappointing Stay with Several Issues
We stayed at Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham South Hill for three nights and encountered multiple problems that made our stay very unpleasant.
1. The elevator was out of service during our entire stay, despite being told it would be fixed. My wife and I had to carry two large suitcases, a carry-on, and two backpacks up to the fourth floor using the stairs. When we asked if there were rooms available on a lower floor, we were told there weren’t any. The front desk did not offer any assistance either, which was very disappointing. Due to this, I hurt my back, and it’s still bothering me a week later.
2. We found a dirty, wet paper towel ball in the microwave, which was unhygienic and unacceptable.
3. The bathtub drain was clogged, and the water drained very slowly, making it uncomfortable to shower.
4. The fire stairwell was also dirty, and it didn’t seem like it had been cleaned in a while.
5. The pillows and mattress were incredibly soft and uncomfortable. They felt cheap and offered no support.
6. The window in the room couldn’t be opened to let in fresh air, which made the room feel stuffy.
Overall, we were very disappointed with our stay and would not recommend this hotel.
