Quirky villa with amazing views
The villa is very quirky but very well maintained and equipped. It has beautiful flowers and plants everywhere and although it has some unusual decor it is very pretty and is spacious with a good size pool and fabulous views over the sea. Our main criticism is that the villa description says it is walking distance to the sea. It is absolutely not!! It’s true, you can walk down a very, very steep hill to the beach but this would not be a suitable walk for the older guests or those that are unfit. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the beach and tavernas but you have to be very careful not to slip. However I would say it is virtually impossible to walk back up to the villa. It is incredibly steep - I walked about a quarter of the way and it took me 15 minutes. And it was utterly exhausting! You absolutely need a car to get everywhere- other than the beautiful Olive Thea restaurant which is a 10 minute - very steep - walk up the hill from the villa. Be aware that the owner’s mother, lives on site and is around a lot. She is not always the most friendly host either!! However, overall, we had a lovely stay. The villa itself is lovely and if you are prepared to drive - or get taxis - everywhere then I would recommend it. A taxi into town is about 15 euros and we found it pretty easy to order taxis to pick us up. The closest beach is Ahladies which has a few tavernas but the much nicer beaches are further afield- although only about a 15 minute drive.
