Upon arrival we walked into a heated dispute between a group of guest and the hotel clerk. The group of guest was confronting the clerk that items had been stolen out of their room by an employee of the hotel. The guest turned to us and informed us of the situation and advised us to not stay here. We quickly called our booking agency and wanted to cancel our stay along with a refund because at this point we are concerned for our safety and the safety of our belongings. The booking agency and La Quinta inn manager gave us the full run around on who could refund us the money for our stay. We spent two hours of our one day trip trying to cancel our stay at the hotel along with trying to a refund with penalties. I felt we shouldn’t be penalized for concern of our safety. No one seemed to care about our concern and we were not refunded so we had to check in. After checking in we went to our room where it took several tries to get the hotel key to work. Once we got into the room I attempted to turn on a light because it was now dark out. Out of 4 lamps in the room only 1 worked and yes everything was plugged in. I went to use the restroom and found that there was still fecal matter from previous guest in the toilet along with a disgusting look shower. The hotel room had patches on the walls throughout the whole room. The walls are super thin too. I woke up this morning hearing someone peeing and realized it was from the room next to us when I heard the toilet flush! Don’t stay here
