“We enjoyed the view from our rental and the quietness of the community. I was a bit disappointed in the condition of the rental. The furniture was in bad shape and the level of cleanliness was not to my standard. Kitchen table was wobbly and couch and chair were not comfortable. You could bounce in the chair when you sat down. Carpets were stained and the guest closet wasn't even useable because it was just full of stuff. Cheese wrapper was on the 3rd floor and pretzel wrappers in main……

“The location was great with the trail heads in 3 state parks and a nature preserve each just a 15 minute drive away. The house was also close to supermarkets and the downtown, which had many restaurants and lots of free parking. The owner, Emilia, was quick to respond to our email and straighten out a minor glitch with the check in. The beds were super comfortable and very much appreciated after a day of hiking. The house had good WiFi, easy off street parking, was very well equipped, and……

“This was a good place to stay. Beds were comfortable, kitchen and bathrooms stocked with supplies. The steps to the unit needed to be cleaned better. A couple of convenient outlets need to be fixed to work.”

“We were looking for a spot where we could hang out as a family of 16 coming from 7 spots around the US and Canada. This house worked well with plenty of bedrooms for adult children couples with ensuite bathrooms. Large bunk room for children, in door game/activity space and lots of outdoor space with a great pool for activity. The kids loved the over-the-top palace feel of the mansion. Kitchens were very functional as we ate every meal in. Lots of places to sit and eat. Company was very good……

“Elaine’s was a great place to celebrate a milestone birthday with friends! With four bedrooms, three full bathrooms, and the option of a pull out couch and air mattress, we had room for multiple adults to be comfortable. The large and well-equipped kitchen and big dining room table were perfect for collaborating on meals and playing games. We enjoyed pizza from Fire on Fifth and day hikes at Starved Rock. We recommend Elaine’s for a group celebration or holiday!”

“This place worked out perfectly for me. It was perfect for having a few guests over and enjoying football with friends. It's a quiet neighborhood, the house has plenty of options as far as cooking. You can grill out or cook anything on the stove or oven. I may rent this one again. ”

“Based on the pictures you would think this was a simple but very nice home. However, once we checked in, just from the outside you could tell it has not been kept up. The deck is worn and weeds and trees are growing along side it. Inside, there were numerous things wrong, including a strong smell of cat pee that was in the hallway and got stronger in the bedroom. I let the owner know and she said she would have the cleaning crew check it out. However, it was clear that the countertops had not……
