I wanted a cheap place to sleep, and that's what I got. The check-in was a friendly experience, the a/c was on, and the room was nice and cool upon entering. So I got what I essentially needed. But the place is in rough condition. The billboard out front indicated weekly rate options, and you can tell that this is a long stay motel for some. The decor is largely untouched and in its original state, with wood paneling in the bedroom and 50s era pink tiling in the bathroom. There was a drawer missing from a chest of drawers. Some outlets and light fixtures did not work. There was a hole in the sheet, exposing the mattress. There were stickers on the mirror, some of which were partially removed in a half-hearted attempt, while some were left untouched. There was an in-wall kleenex tissue holder that had an empty box. The room was clean, but dark with the wood paneling and limited lighting, and I chose not to assess the cleanliness too closely.
We stayed a second night in the area and opted for a different place to stay. But I got some sleep in an air-conditioned room, which was most important.
