「What an absolute disaster! I booked this boat and I called the number no less than six times could not contact with anyone. Hotels.com did try to help me they could not contact anyone. So at 6 o’clock at night I was left with no place to stay and no one contacted me. I am sitting here the next day and no one has ever reached out to me. I lost my money. Hotels.com only gave me a $25 credit.」

「I’m amazed that VRBO allows this bullshit on their website, this host has multiple boats, and I’m quite sure they’re all derelict vessels, advertised as docked in a boat slip but was moored out in the bay, had to run a noisy generator for power, not to mention the bathtub looking dinghy with a dilapidated trolling motor to get there」

「The property wasn’t the one in the advertisement…. It was advertised as “the Gyp-Sea” but it was actually “the last Hoorah! It was not very clean , the toilet was broken, there was things stored in the bathroom and also in the shower , so we were unable to even go in either! The loud generator on the boat was almost out of gas. The 4 workers that took 2 trips to get us on the boat were the only good thing about this . They went above and beyond, with what they had to work with ! We left and had...

「Excellent. I am in Florida for disaster relief. No other hotels available. The owner made sure I had a place to stay and helped with anything needed. Yes, you are staying on a boat however, they make sure you are able to get to your car at whatever time to make it to work at whatever time day or night with free overnight parking. 「Smelled of sewage, power was provided by a large loud generator wrapped in a tarp. Extention cords ran everywhere. Had to hook a wire to a battery to flush the toilet. 「A great adventure for a couple. Centrally located to all major attractions in Sarasota and just minutes from SRQ airport. Home is practically brand new and reminds us of our boating adventures. Make sure to kayak the canals and walk to the sunset beach in the little neighborhood to the west. Tom, the host was super helpful and did a great job in building the water home. Make sure you get the exact address of the marina too. Enjoy!!」

「I almost dread giving a good review because I'm afraid that too many people will want to reserve time because of a +review. Thus competing w the number of return visits that I hope to have in the near future!! For me Lazy Parrot offered the respite that I needed after dealing with the repercussions of Hurricane Ian in my Fort Myers Beach area. It happened to be a great visit with an amazing sunset followed by an equally beautiful sunrise. It was sort of a ying yang of God's divine tapestry......

「This property was double booked and we were therefore forced to take a much smaller houseboat. Property manager claimed that she was going to give us a partial refund however never did. Ignored several of my messages and now claims that they don’t know what I am talking about! Poor communication! 」

「After check in time, owner said they were changing the date of the reservation. When we indicated we were unable to stay on the new date, we received no further communication. No information on how to check in, no discussion period. Owner only responded when Hotel support called. Would not refund deposit even though they made the change to the reservation.」

"This hotel is great! friendly and helpful staff, clean and large room (the quality is particularly amazing given the low price), and it is walkable to the Ringling mueseum. The only thing I am not that satisfied is the strong smell of disinfectant in the room. Will definitely consider this place once I visit Sarasota again."
