We had a wonderful “lower” room do we didn’t hear any traffic noise though we heard our neighbor’s TV once or twice and a few heavy footsteps above us.
The views of the mighty Pacific are gorgeous from almost everywhere on the property, and there are lots of outdoor places to enjoy them—several fire pits, a gazebo, some hammock chairs with umbrellas, a hot tub, a lawn, some benches atop the cliffs, or your own private balcony.
The rooms have safes, bathrobes, mini fridges, microwaves, and a cozy throw blanket to cover you up outside if it gets breezy.
Parking and breakfast were both included, ample, and convenient, and there was an included wine hour in the late afternoon. The staff couldn’t have been more pleasant or helpful.
Plenty of restaurants south toward Pismo downtown (.5 to 1.5 miles) or north to Shell Beach (.8 miles). Both an easy walk if you’re so inclined.
The cons: the in-room heater (and presumably a/c in the same unit) is loud; the Maxwell House pods for the in-room Keurig are not for people who really enjoy coffee; lastly, the pumps on the bath amenities were all rather stubborn and the soaps themselves were pretty basic. Bring your own if you like to wash your face with something that feels and smells good.
Overall, though, a great find. We’ll be back.
