The hotel is very good but the surrounding area it is very limited For a countryside hotel you would expect a better contact with the nature .The swimming pool is open to the locals who do not like to share the space with the hotel costumers and the space can be very crowded for this.

We booked this as a spa day type hotel hoping to spend one of the days in the pool sauna and steam room as part of our 40th wedding anniversary tour around the uk. The pool was cold, as was the jacuzzi, the sauna and steam room were also not working properly. The locker rooms were not in good condition, the men’s especially poor. We did inform the reception staff who apologised but didn’t offer any compensation etc… the hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful, the bar had no atmosphere and we went out to eat elsewhere both nights. Breakfast was good.

Not returning third time back to this Hotel.
free carpark nice to come back to the hotel nice room was not happy with room 71 the housekeeping didn't clean bath tub good two brown hair found on bath tub near mixer tap and the spot light wasnt working above bath and empty biscuit packet was found in room the cleaners are not doing job as they meant to there was noise coming from the industrial area units next door and the breakfast was nice again the toaster didnt heat up the bread not tested left on low setting had to put it in twice to get it toasted got overcooked didnt want to touch the settings simple things in life.

Hotel setting was lovely and we made use of the swimming pool while there. The room was very warm which meant it was not as comfortable as it could have been. The bar was not really an option to eat a sit down meal in as the tables were all very low and all chairs were sofas or bucket chairs. This would have been our first choice rather than pay the very expensive restaurant prices, however the food was very good in the restaurant. So I would suggest if they offer a bar menu they create a comfortable bar area with proper height tables and chairs to eat from. Overall a pleasant stay.

Great staff, food and spa.. shame about the room
Staff super friendly and helpful. Food in the restaurant really good too. For the type of hotel and price of room the room was underwhelming but functional. The area it needs a refurb (in my view) is the bathroom as the fittings weren't suitable for this level of hotel. Hand rails in bath great for those who need them (I applaud them being there) but the bath needs to be bigger to accommodate these, because currently there is little space (and I'm not a big person) so you catch your arm on the rail whilst trying to have a shower - much too tight. The hook for the towel kept falling off and there was only one of them for a double room - should be at least 2! The heated towel rail nice but not big enough for 2 sets of towels to dry them properly. For some reason the sink kept filling up with bubbles when washing hands that took ages to go away for the next person. Otherwise there was adequate sockets in the room for all the 'extra gadgets' we had with us which was good. Kettle in a really odd place (in cupboard under telly) and you couldn't move it elsewhere - very awkward. Absolutely BRILLIANT treatment at the Spa though - very excellent!
