Wandering Woods is a lovely, affordable retreat that is tucked away in the woods in Robbinsville, just west of Bryson City, NC. With its quiet and peaceful location, this spot is the ideal spot for those wishing to enjoy the outdoors and get away to the Great Smoky Mountains.
Wandering Woods features two bedroom, two bathrooms and comfortably seats up to six guests. The outdoor area offers a nice large porch for enjoying the crisp mountain air, a hot tub to unwind after a long day, fire pit for roasting smores and gathering for campfire stories, and a gas grill and seating for enjoying a nice meal on the porch. The interior of the home offers a beautiful, rocked gas log fireplace, comfortable seating in the living room area, a fully stocked kitchen with eat in kitchen, and large dining space. There is a bedroom on the main level that features a twin over full bunk with trundle bed underneath. The perfect spot for all the youngsters. There is also a bedroom with a bath, shower combo that is convenient for guest use. The master is located upstairs in the open loft and boasts a king sized bed, flat screen tv, and bath with tub/shower combo. For guest convenience there is wireless internet, washer/dryer, and cable tv service.
Wandering woods is central to many attractions in the area including the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad in Bryson City, Harrah’s Casino in Cherokee, and the Nantahala Outdoor Center. Lake Fontana and Lake Santeetlah offer great fishing and boat/jet ski rentals. The scenic Blue Ridge Parkway begins a short 30 minutes away in Cherokee. Clingman’s Dome, the highest mountain in the Smokeys at 6643 ft is only an hour and fifteen-minute drive.
