Good: I absolutely LOVE this hotel. We used to stay here somewhat regularly. Now it's not as common. It is a vintage hotel with a modern luxury feel to it. Beds are comfortable. Everything is well kept for the most part and up to date. Staff are usually awesome. The view from the top is also next level. We will return.
Bad: This hotel pulls out every trick in the book to nickel and dime customers. For starters I pre-paid for our visit, so price was final. However after our stay I noticed an additional charge to my card listed as a "marketing fee". As well as this hotel does not have free parking even though it's listed as an amenity. You can either pay $29 for valet, or mess around with meters and having to wake up at 7 to start your meter session. Also, rooms are much smaller than they appear on the website. Area around the hotel has become somewhat sketchy lately at night.
So overall, hotel could be more upfront on the parking issues, and just charge a full cost. Stop with this "after the fact" fees. If you want to be a cheap hotel, then just be a cheap hotel. However, when it says Hilton, I expect Hilton quality, and I'll pay for that. Pretending to be both is why this hotel has so many negative reviews.
I just hate unmet expectations. If I expect parking to be dumb, I can live with it and plan ahead.
