We had booked a pet friendly room. Upon arrival after 8pm, they were still “cleaning” our room.
The room they put us in had wet carpet and reeked of vomit.
I asked him if they could put us in a different room, letting him know I’m 7 months pregnant and the smell of vomit behind our headboard was making me physically sick. He said there were no rooms available.
I asked him if he could clean the room, he said he “didn’t know how to use the machine”, therefor could not clean our room. He handed us a bottle of spray so we could clean it ourselves.
I asked for a refund so we could stay elsewhere, he said no.
After two HOURS of back and forth, being lied to, and him disappearing for long periods of time, they charged us more to put us in a different room that was dirty, but not putrid smelling. We didn’t get into the “clean” room until after 11pm.
He would not give manager information and was extremely uncooperative. I have traveled across the US in low-budget hotels for years and this was the worst experience I have ever had. They were not open to resolving the issue.
