“Great experience. We just needed something for one night and this was good. For what it was it was bit more expensive but I guess it was because of the area. Really lovely cliffs around. The owner was lovely, was checking on us when we were bit late and all was good. ”

“The Rockford is a real gem. So welcoming, quaint and in beautiful surroundings. The staff were very friendly nothing was too much trouble, the room we had was really comfortable and clean. Breakfast, which was included in the price of our room was just delicious. We want to visit again! Thank you for a lovely stay!!”

“Russel and Nicky made us feel very welcome and at home , the breakfast are amazing and worth a revisit alone ! The room was clean and tidy , the en-suite was spacious and the views from our windows over the river were great . We had bedroom 3 and the river runs directly outside and the sounds and views of the river are very relaxing . We would highly recommend to anyone wanting a lovely quiet peaceful break with lovely walks right on your doorstep.. we will be back for sure ”

“Very nice hotel run by nice people. The bed and the room (we had a suite) was a little small, but we got used to it. We had our own parking which was very convenient. Breakfast was well prepared and good service.”

“Superb in every way. Warm and welcoming staff who couldn’t have been more helpful and kind. Cosy but spacious bedroom with very comfortable bed. Fantastic home cooked food and plenty of it! A roaring log fire and honesty bar for drinks and snacks. The views are spectacular and although in a quiet location, within easy reach of the shops. ”

“Lovely quirky place. Super bar and dining room. Loved the view, the uneven floor in our room, the quaint stairs, the helpful staff. The shower was wonderful. The only negative is that the bed was too narrow. I think it was a basic double and we're used to having king or superking when we stay in a hotel. Not massively important, and it didn't spoil our stay, but would have liked a vegan full English breakfast option. Hope to stay again in the future.”
