“We really enjoyed our stay! The house was very clean. There was more than enough space for the five of us. We mainly hung out on the main level. The kitchen and bathrooms are well appointed. Comfy beds and nice soaps, shampoo/conditioner. We did quite a bit of cooking. Good appliances and knives. Plenty of dishes and glassware. Sufficient cookware. Kitchen table seats six. Great for puzzles too! The Poppajohn Sculpture Park is worth the short drive. We also took lovely strolls at Gray’s Lake……

“Property is nice, for all the house rules and remarks about leaving everything clean and items in their “home” property was not that clean. Oven was a disaster that required cleaning to use. Otherwise nice if you do not mind taxidermy and possible daycare with 3 dogs next door.”

“My friends and I had a wonderful time at this property. The house was very clean and well equipped with what we needed. There was plenty of room for the 5 of us. The location was perfect for the activities we had planned. The neighborhood was quiet. There were several outdoor areas and we did use the one deck. The owners were very nice and answered any questions or issues we might have had. Would definitely stay in one of their properties again. Jane”

“Myself, with my 2 longtime best friends, stayed 3 nights at the home, from the 13th to the 16th. We visited the Fair, enjoyed some shopping and a lot of time together. The house is welcoming, the reservation process and communication with the owner were hassle-free and prompt. It was very clean, spacious, comfortable. The location was easily accessible and very quiet. I would recommend staying here, 3 separate bedrooms and bathrooms offer a great deal of privacy and space. ”

“So glad we found this place! We needed a place to stay for 9 days between an alumni reunion and a family wedding and hotel prices were prohibitive. This roomy efficiency was perfect for our stay in a great location at a great price that saved us a lot of cash, making the trip possible. But, what may have made the stay best were the rapid, friendly, and helpful responses I always got from the host whenever I had a question or needed assistance. I'll definitely stay here next time. “We were meeting with extended family for Thanksgiving and need a place for 9 people (3 generations) to stay -- and this one delivered! The house was clean and beautifully furnished. The host was friendly and responded quickly to my questions. The kitchen was outfitted with everything we needed for meals and included the fixings for coffee and tea. Best of all, with five bedrooms, all 9 of us (3 generations) could stay in one place. The laundry facilities were a bonus! The location made it easy……

“This was our 2nd stay at Rock House. Great location close to Central College. My twins love the upstairs bunk room though the steps are very steep- be careful in stocking feet. This tiny house was cozy on a cold and windy night. A possible suggestion would be to add a mirror in the sunroom. It is a good space to get ready for the evening/day since the bathroom is so tiny. I'm sure we will be back again. Love the Rock House”

“Beautiful house in a nice neighborhood. The home was clean and was fully stocked with towels and clean bedding. The property owners were polite and accommodating for the duration of our stay. The beds were especially comfortable after a long motorcycle ride across country. We thoroughly e joyed our stay and would stay at this property again when we return to Des Moines. ”

“Towels were very basic. Could go to Walmart and get a few nice sets to have in unit instead of ones so thin they should be in the rag bucket. A hide-abed would be a great addition to this space. the tables & chairs were nice. Owner seemed to over communicate. We were in town for a tournament so just needed a place to sleep. The rooftop access was nice if only it was warmer. Parking garage & skywalk were nice and convenient. Just don't park near the ramp bc homeless guy broke into my truck &……

“This property is in such a conveniently located spot for time in Des Moines as its minutes away from downtown, the fair grounds and an excellent spot for an Adventureland weekend. Interiror was clean and cute with the right amenities.The hosts had excellent communication. We had a small blip with our check in process (which normally would have been very convenient) and I was very satisfied with the speed, professionalism and ability of thr hosts were able to communicate with us and resolve it……

“My fiancée and I had a wonderful stay at the Surety! We were in town to see the Mannheim Steamroller Christmas show at the Civic Center. The Surety is within walking distance to the Civic Center. The room was very clean and comfortable! We had dinner at the Mulberry Street Tavern inside the hotel and that was wonderful too!”
