“In town from Oklahoma, as my grandson qualified for his second rough stock finals in Abilene. Cute cottage with pool access and outdoor seating ( we enjoyed our morning coffee by the pool ). Communication with owner was received in timely manner with all inquiries addressed. Host was present and graciously accommodated my grandchildren with items to enjoy in the pool. “We had a great stay in this newly renovated place. It's in a great location near campus and is perfect for couples. Staying on property with the owners, yet having complete privacy made us feel like we were welcome in the neighborhood and not tourists. A few extras like a huge coffee selection for the Keurig, toiletries, ice and a jar of snacks really added to the homie feeling and made this a perfect retreat for the weekend. ”

“If you ever stay at this property, you will know exactly what that means. Check in is via a kiosk with an agent overseas. Never experienced anything like that but it was ok. They have worked hard to make this into a clean, safe, and comfortable hotel experience. It was quite nice EXCEPT for the horrible smell emitting from one of those plug in scent things with liquid in a reservoir. It would send a skunk running. We unplugged it and bagged it but the smell stayed with us. Note to owner: Please……

“El Capitan was quaint and vintage decor. Loved the amenities and all the property had to offer! Peaceful and enjoyed the stay! The host was amazing and so attentive. Less than 15 minutes to the canyon and 25 to Amarillo for the Big Texas Steakhouse. It was my husband and I and our two fur babies. We would definitely recommend if you’re heading that way !
