The Stanford Motor Inn is conveniently located near Stanford University. However, it is just a motel - and exactly what you expect a motel to be. Rooms all face a central parking area and pool, and every room has its own air conditioning unit. All windows have security latches which prevent them from opening more than a half inch.
The room felt a bit dated. Our room had new-looking, white duvet covers on the beds. But the bottom (flat) sheet on the bed moved around when you slept, creating a lot of wrinkles (I don't like sleeping on rumpled sheets). Plus, the bottom sheet was just a bit too short, so my feet kept contacting the blanket that they placed under the bottom sheet (which was not a pleasant feeling). All of this could have been solved if they had just used a larger flat sheet for the bottom sheet.
The bathroom was decent - the shower water pressure was good and the water got hot quickly. The room also had a microwave oven and refrigerator.
The people in the office were pleasant, and they offer packaged pastries and granola bars in the morning.
Overall, I'd say that this is a decent, budget motel. Don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed.
