This resort is very mis leading the picture make it look like a quality boutique hotel. As a local from Palms Springs I can tell you that this place is below standard and the rooms are more of the quality of a motel 6 or travel lodge. The theme may be retro but its more like a cheap hotel from out of the 70's. Luckily they did accommodate us and let us move across the street to their sister hotel "Obits inn".. There sister hotel is more of what you would expect from a stay in Palm Springs @ a boutique hotel. Desert hills is over priced, over rated, and the pictures are miss leading. Note: the hot tub had caution tape around it and the pool honestly didn’t look inviting. Luckily there are so many other Amazing boutique hotels in palm springs and at a lower price; which is why i would never settle for the Desert hill hotel again...

What a fun little motel that takes you back in time! Easy check-in and friendly communications with all. We were only there for one night but will definitely choose this place again when we return to visit. One suggestion is to allow communication through WhatsApp instead of just texting for those who are not able to use text as an option while travelling.

It was very quiet and clean and an easy walk to downtown! The kitchen was a plus and the beds were very comfortable. Just wish the jacuzzi was working but other than that it was a great stay and would definitely stay there again!

Loved hearing the birds in the morning! My room had all the extra touches of a home guest arrival - waters in the fridge, snacks on the counter, and cute soaps in the bathroom. Adorable pink bathroom with original tile makes this place a far better choice than a boring white & grey hotel room. I recommend Desert Hills.

A favorite in Palm Springs
We have stayed here numerous times over the past 10 years because we love it! Perfect location (just 5 blocks from downtown in historic Tennis District), small size, quiet and comfortable rooms. Our room has been updated and redesigned in very mid-century vibes and was very cool. Kitchenette, back patio, fabulously strong shower. Only downside as the pool heater was broken making swimming impossible. But the management kindly offered availability to the pool at their nearby property which was fine. Also the jacuzzi has been on the fritz for a few years and hopefully that should be resolved by the summer. No management on the grounds but very easy to contact them.

We were really happy with the retro style of the room, cleanliness and the staff. Unfortunate that the hot tub was under renovation and had to have a cold shower on the last day due to some renovations on the property, but I’m OK with that.
