The pros: The area was close to everything and felt safe and secluded.
The apartment is spacious and clean, kitchen tools and dish soap provided. The rooms were tastefully decorated.
*The outdoor space was drab & could use some sprucing up.
*Bring your own laundry detergent & liquid hand soap for the bathrooms.
This rental company did request via email pictures of my credit card and ID and a selfie, which I didn’t particularly like since the point of using Hotels.com is having a third party buffer for security.
There was alot of written communication via contracts, stickers on the walls & emails, which ended up conveying a threatening & quite frankly annoying message to me about “not taking any decor” “pictures have been taken of what is in the home” “we will keep the deposit if any decor or towels are missing” etc. I understand homes rented out are personal investments to the owner, but a certain risk to the owner is implied in the real estate and rental industry. It’s impolite to garner so much attention to stealing and vandalism on all the guests. We ended up feeling less like guests on vacation & more like we were imposing.
Another detail for rental properties is the cleaning fee & then requesting we start the towel washing or the garbage disposal, when in effect a cleaning agent is coming “as soon as we Check out”
These are the the cons we found. Less about the actual space & more about the management and feeling of happiness and ease.
