“Amazing place! It is a little outside the town with an amazing view of the volcano. The property was so relaxing with a pool and shaded areas to hang out. So many birds and a beautiful garden! The actual room was good for sleeping and making simple meals but we spent most of our time outdoors on the property. Would stay again!”

“Wonderful house and property in a rainforest setting. House has all the necessary amenities, comfortable bed. Marty was very responsive on WhatsApp and welcoming when we arrived. We thoroughly enjoyed all the little extras like the pool, hot tub, and nature walk. Would definitely return again!”

“The management could not have been more helpful both in terms of arranging tours and assisting with a problem with our car. The wildlife that we saw each day at breakfast was stunning but breakfast itself was somewhat disappointing. We understand their bid to be very eco but only emptying bins in the rooms every 48 hours did not seem very hygienic. ”

“We especially enjoyed waking to the sounds of so many tropical birds. The house is artfully decorated, the views are wonderful, the surrounding gardens are excellent. So great to be out in the country away from the crowds of La Fortuna but still close to everything. Highly recommended”

“The location was perfect for seeing Rio Celeste and other rainforest tours. Everyone was really friendly and the food was great. Communication was somewhat interesting because I hadn’t brushed up on my Spanish enough but we made it work! The bed wasn’t super comfortable, shower didn’t get very hot and the walls weren’t exactly soundproof but for the price it was still a good value. I’d definitely stay here again!”

“The Casita was just as advertised. Small but didn't feel small. We were nervous about the size before moving in but it felt the right size and we didn't feel crowded or closed in. It had everything that we needed and expected. The view was great and the location was fine. We had a car so getting to groceries etc. was not a problem. Barbara and Lawrence were great hosts. We really enjoyed Lawrence's band practices. All in all a great stay.”

“If you value privacy and respect this is NOT the place for you. The Good: our family thoroughly enjoyed the Arenal area. Los Lagos was great for kids and adults. Hot springs,water slides and lunch, all for 100 bucks US. It’s a must visit. The area is gorgeous, if you have an extra couple of days it’s a great way to end your trip before flying home.The bad: This is ALL true. We arrive at 7 pm, told not to use AC unless all windows are closed, some windows are impossible to close because they……

“El sitio es muy bonito y cada día ves a un oso perezoso y ranitas en el jardín. Lo único malo es que en la habitación hay muchos insectos y no sale agua caliente en la ducha. El desayuno fue muy escaso (1 tostada partida por la mitad, una rodaja de tomate partido por la mitad y 1 huevo batido, y café..) nos quedamos con hambre. Los propietarios son muy agradables y cada día te localizaban al oso perezoso.”

“Shockingly great place to stay. Worrisome when pulling up for checkin but very comfortable for four of us to stay in for a couple nights. Teenagers had plenty of room, easy less than a block walk to a dozen restaurants.”
