***** SCAM *****
The place exists and it has an excellent location near the subway, with a pizza joint open all night. If you're not too picky, have no other options and are not bothered by unauthorized extra charges.
The front desk isn't 24/7.
The room has bugs, is very dirty with scuffs and yellow stains, and has broken furniture/wall fixtures.
The housekeeping crew enters the room without warning.
BLOOD-STAINED pillow. Yes, it is a grave accusation, and I have it on video just in case.
SCAM WARNING:
The scam involves taking an in-person authorization from you to charge your credit card. It happens when they collect a USD 150 damage deposit when you check-in, which is returned instantly at checkout.
An extra charge will appear on your credit card a day after checkout. Attempts to contact the property were unsuccessful, and the bank explained that in-person authorization allows them to charge as they please. The only solution is to cancel the credit card.
Efforts to resolve the issue with Wyndham properties, the hotel and Expedia have been challenging, with no one taking ownership.
