Two of us were there for 5 nights in April (2023). It is a terrific, safe, fascinating, multicultural area and Patrick's place is on a lovely neighborhood street. Quiet, Trees line the street. Subway right at the end of the street to take you anywhere. Heck, we went to a Springsteen concert in Newark and it took only one change. One ride to Penn station, quick train to Newark. Simple.
It's a 15 minute walk to The Apollo theatre. 5-15 minute walk to a wide range of restaurants. We felt comfortable walking home at 1 AM and we're both in our 60's Yankee stadium is a 10 minute Uber away. I loved returning to this place after a day downtown - you get away from the noise and congestion, and come back to your "home".
The unit itself is bright and airy, perfect size for two +, 2 kids with a futon. Full kitchen with ALL the utensils and pots and dishes you'll need. Bottled water in fridge when we walked in. He was negligent in forgetting the Dom Perignon and truffles on the pillows, but that's forgivable.
I've owned a BnB myself and I went to extreme efforts to make it perfect. Patrick has done the same. Attention to small details like double-ply toilet paper. He was accessible quickly. TV was full cable to get local as well as national TV, Netflicks, etc.
There's my two cents. I've been to 20 VRBO places over the last 10 years and this is one of the best. You'll love it. No need to look further. Enjoy it!
