Our home is an authentic “D-Log” constructed log cabin, meaning if you touch the wall inside, you are touching the same piece of wood that comprises the outside wall! It is a simple and beautifully constructed home that feels peaceful, quiet, and cozy. We are grateful for the positive feeling our home provides and are happy we get to share it with others.
The main living space features an open layout with a large living room that includes a 400 sq. ft wall of windows from which you can look out over our property and the adjacent hill from almost anywhere in the house.
The main bedroom features a cloud like queen sized bed, and the double doors to its own small hillside porch. While across the hall, the bathroom is large, spa-esque, and sports a surprisingly deep soaking tub, a separate shower, and dual vanities for couples tired of elbowing each other out of the way in the morning.
The kitchen is vast and well equipped. A four burner gas stove stands at the ready, while the cupboards are well stocked with any cookware you might need, pots, pans, trays, cooking utensils, cutting boards, and a solid drip coffee machine amongst the dozens of other coffee gadgets. Sit and eat at the kitchen island or at the table in the separate dining area.
Above the kitchen is an 800 square foot open loft, with a daybed/sofa (smaller than a full mattress), a television, and large open views to the outdoors both in front of and behind our home. It’s Music City, so feel free to have a go with the guitars or the drums! (Just not too late - they tend to echo across the neighborhood!)
The large wrap-around porch is covered completely on one side of the house with comfortable outdoor furniture and a space for dining. The porch overlooks our upper yard and our raised fire pit, perfect for evening campfires and marshmallow roasting.
You will need a car or use Uber and lyft to get about from the cabin to anywhere in Nashville is not a far drive or ride whatever your situation .
The property is located on a hillside. We love how much character and privacy it brings to our place, however if steps are a problem for you then this may inhibit your enjoyment of our home.
Though it may appear like there is no one around for miles, the hills actually hide quite a few homes. Sound can really carry out here, so we only ask that you respect our neighbors in regard to noise, music, voices, etc, especially later at night. Thanks!
Lastly, our home IS a log cabin set in the Tennessee woods, and while we think the setting is one of the greatest features of our home, nature can play a larger role than usual. You may run into a couple more bugs in our cabin than in a normally constructed house, and when venturing into the woods, things like mosquitos, ticks, and poison ivy can also be part of the equation. We are well versed in mitigating these negatives though and are ready to share our tips!
