Our home is in the heart of Historic Mystic located half way between the Mystic Museum of Art and Captain Daniel Packer Inn and is within easy walking distance to all Downtown Mystic restaurants, shops, and attractions.
This Water Street property is an historic 2-bedroom home constructed in 1845 in the Greek Revival style and offers both 19th century charm and 21st century convenience. It is fully furnished and decorated with an eclectic collection of Americana, period pieces, folk art, curiosities, and other items of local interest. The doors are a bit crooked, the floors slant and the glass in most of the windows is wavy. Keep in mind the home was built prior to modern building codes so the stairs are a bit steeper than modern homes and may be a challenge for guests with a mobility condition. But you will also find Wi-Fi with high-speed internet access, HDTV and state of the art heating and A/C.
On the main floor, you will enjoy a fully appointed galley kitchen equipped with a range/oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, garbage disposal, and microwave oven. You will also find a coffee maker, toaster, pots, pans, dishes as well as all essential cooking/eating utensils. There is generous seating in both the dining and living room areas together with remotely controlled lighting and ceiling fans. Sorry, no washer or dryer.
The two bedrooms and the fully renovated bathroom are located on the second floor where you will also find a cozy reading nook with its own great view of the Mystic River. Both bedrooms have queen size beds, a comfortable sitting area, dresser drawers with full size mirrors and plenty of closet space. Recommended occupancy is for parties of four but additional sleeping accommodations can be found in the living room on the queen size convertible sofa bed for larger parties.
