Check in was OK, staff on reception within a minute of arrival. Old soap with a hair on it left in shower - yuk! Carpet may not have been vacuumed after previous guest. The corridor carpeting from reception to our room looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in a long time.
Bed large and comfortable, great pillows. While I generally don't watch TV, my other half wanted to but the remote barely worked. After calling reception, I went and got a fully functioning replacement, which made her happy.
We arrived with dogs and our room was conveniently located at one end of the hotel, right beside the small dog exercise area. It included poop bags and a trash bin, so top marks here.
It must be quite an old building as there was an area of peeling paint in the bathroom. Also, it took a few minutes for the shower to supply hot water, very unusual in a Marriott facility.
Breakfast was plentiful and self-serve buffet style. Cheese omelets and sausage patties were both OK and the coffee was hot and strong. There were plenty of other choices including fresh oatmeal, yogurt, waffles, etc.
Overall, I'm surprised and disappointed in this hotel stay. While the room was comfortable and staff friendly and breakfast plentiful, this seems to be a facility that ignores the official Marriott ethos of the GM using 'Management By Walking About'. If the GM was truly performing to the Marriott way of doing business, this would have been a 5 star review.
