To start with, this location was perfect for us. Our daughter was graduating from UF and we wanted something close enough to easily get to Gainesville, but not so close we were constantly part of the madhouse with graduation. The cottage was tastefully decorated and had plenty of spaces to relax in. Kitchen had most common things needed to cook and anything not available was only a text message away from being delivered by the host. Both the air conditioning and heating worked great as the days had a wide variation in temperatures. Guests should be aware that only one of the rooms has a closet. This wasn't a big deal for us, as we didn't have alot of hang-up clothes. I positively LOVE the little chimes the washer plays when it's finished a cycle. It sounds so proud of itself!!!The cottage is off a dirt road and therefore right next to a cemetery. This was wonderful as I love to wander the old headstones and see the stories they tell...for instance:the father and son who died on the same day,the children who lived only a day or two because infant mortality was so high, the many veterans recognized, the wife who I think was an avid birder. However, the most intriguing and saddest to me was the inscription on a very old stone, of a young boy of about 12. I could only partially get a rubbing of the inscription, but it started with "All alone you died...". Maybe a future visitor can find out the rest. Please don't let the presence of the cemetery stop you from staying.
