“This is a tough review to write. Overall, this place is wonderful and magical. There are many positives. My children loved the pond and access to fishing gear and a canoe. That was a huge bonus for us. The property is lovely. The beds were very comfortable. The place is definitely older and rustic. We enjoyed spending time together as a family having dinner and playing board games. We were welcomed by the owner as we arrived and he made us feel right at home. Some suggestions I would make are……

“My sister and I stayed at the Bird's Nest in late Sept. 2024. It was fabulous. Very quiet and comfortable. We loved the deck for watching the sunrise/sunset with a glass of wine. Very quiet. The kitchen was so well stocked. The location couldn't have been better for visiting Mesa Verde. Jeff and his wife were wonderful hosts - answered questions quickly and were available for restaurant recommendations :)”

“My family and I felt so comfortable in this cute house. We thoroughly enjoyed the quiet home away from home. The house was spotless, which I believe reflects the desire to please guests. They provided a coffee bar, candy treats, dog necessities, a kitchen stocked with all the tools to make yummy home cooked meals. While we don’t have young kiddos, there were thoughtful amenities for all ages. I cannot speak highly enough of this lovely family and the care we felt while staying in this home. I……

“This was the cleanest, most comfortable place we have ever stayed in! The mattresses were all great, as well as very Cindy pillows. We could tell a lot of detail went into the cleaning as well, very very clean!!!”

“Our stay at the ranch was a wonderful surprise! This beautiful cabin is comfortable and a perfect place to kick back and relax. We especially enjoyed the porch and mountain views and stargazing. The hot tub was a great benefit for our aching muscles after several days of hiking. The kitchen was well-appointed. I especially appreciated multiple coffee options and the to-go cups! Beds were comfortable though crazy high. A wooden stool for the second floor bedroom would be appreciated. Loved……

“The VRBO description undersells the attractions of this property! It was larger than expected, beautifully maintained and nestled in a protected art and nature sanctuary. The hosts were quite charming and clearly committed to providing all their guests with a lovely stay. We are so glad we chose this (instead of touristy Durango) as our jumping off place for Mesa Verde NP.”
