Myanmar recently opened up to tourism.
We had difficulty in finding anyone anywhere with a good level of English. The hotel was no exception
Mandalay is a large city based on a grid system. Royal Tulip is at one corner - the only advantage of its location is its proximity to the docking point for the boat travelling to or arriving from Bagan. To get anywhere, taxis are essential.
The hotel is small but noisy. Noise comes from within echoing up the stairwells and corridors, and comes from without - traffic during the day and evening and dog barking through the night.
If you prefer a western style breakfast, then your option is white toast, butter and jam and a fried egg.
Outside, the roads are dusty and the air polluted - and that is across Manadalay.

Ystävällinen lähellä jokin aivan satamas
Super ystävällinen henkilökunta ja siisti tilava huone. Rakennus kulunut, mutta toimi hyvin. Jokilaivalla lyhyt matka.
