It's a little off the beaten path, but well worth the price. The neighborhood is nice enough that my husband and I (both white) felt safe walking down the road to a cafe after dark. Plenty of tuktuks to take you around the neighborhood, or take a bus or taxi.
Our host was very helpful and speaks English well. He has maps of the city, printed directions you can hand your taxi driver to get you back to the hotel, and menus for many take - out restaurants nearby. Delivery charges are about the price of a taxi. The host can order your food for you, order a taxi, etc. There are several tour options he can set up for you, but we didn't take advantage of those and I cannot speak for them.
The room was fine, about what you would expect for the price. The queen mattress was comfortable enough for us to get good sleep. The small child bed was just foam for the mattress and we are glad we didn't need it.
Soap and towels were provided, but no shampoo.
We did not stay long enough to use the pool. It appeared to be clean and clear, but it's pretty small so only expect to take a dip and splash around a bit, but not really swim... (I'm a lap swimmer).
They have cold drinks, snacks, and a jug of water for sale. You just write down what you take and you'll settle up when you check out. All reasonably priced. We were never around for breakfast and cannot speak for the quality.
It's a great place if you just need a place to come back to and refresh in the evenings.
