A quirky old hotel with an interesting history. The room was fine but sparsely furnished and the lighting was dim. The front desk staff was very friendly and offered great suggestions for dining.

Excellent historic hotel! Extremely clean, has to be the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in!! There is a cute cafe that one door down and a little convenience store for all your needs. In walking distance to Paramount Studios as well. The only downside is the Wi-Fi was wonky, but not to much of a bother because we didn’t spend much time in the room.

The high ceilings and classic furnishings made it feel like I was part of Hollywood’s golden age. Despite the vintage vibe, the amenities were up-to-date, including a very comfortable bed, a spacious bathroom, and reliable Wi-Fi. The location is perfect for exploring Hollywood and beyond. It’s close to major attractions like the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Griffith Park while still offering a quiet and relaxing retreat from the bustling city. There’s also a charming coffee shop on-site, which was perfect for starting my mornings. The staff were exceptional—friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. They went out of their way to make sure my stay was comfortable and provided great recommendations for local dining and sightseeing. If you’re looking for a unique, memorable stay that combines history, charm, and convenience, the Hollywood Historic Hotel is an excellent choice. I can’t wait to visit again!

An old building with character. The restaurant downstairs was a gem. Great happy hour menu. Room was clean. The parking was very convenient with only $18 a day.

My room was beside the staircase on the second floor. There was no table, or chair to sit on. The building is extremely old, where you can hear all the creams and cracks when people were walking. The worst part was the wifi. It barely worked, which was the most frustrating. Horrible hotel, the male front desk attendant seemed like he did not want to be there!

If you want a modern hotel with all the latest facilities this hotel is not for you. If you want a classic-style hotel with lots of history that's extremely handy for public transport and Paramount Film Studios, then this friendly, clean hotel is highly recommended.

Not the best neighborhood. Although I didn’t feel unsafe, there’s little to see or do in the immediate vicinity. Perfectly adequate, but nothing special. Parking is $18 a night. Not a bad choice if you just need a place to stay and don’t need to be near anything in particular. That said, It’s a reasonably central location. Uber to and from LAX was about $55.
