I booked a stay at Glen Capri Inn and Suites from December 27th to December 31st but checked out early on December 28th due to an incredibly disappointing experience and unsanitary conditions. Initially, I chose this property based on its promising reviews and appealing photos, but the reality was far from what was advertised.
When my fiancé and I checked in during the evening, the room was supposed to be non-smoking, yet it had a strong and overwhelming cigarette smell. I contacted the front desk to request a room change but was informed that the hotel was fully booked. They offered to spray air freshener, but it did little to mask the odor. Left with no alternative, we purchased a candle and air fresheners, but even that couldn’t overcome the overpowering smell, which made it difficult for my fiancé, who has asthma, to breathe.
The next morning, the situation worsened. When my fiancé turned on the shower, a strong, foul odor came from the drain, and drain flies began flying out, landing around the shower and room. This was unsanitary and unacceptable. At that point, I decided we could not stay any longer and checked out immediately.
Management initially assured me that I would receive a refund for the unused nights, but despite my patience, I never received any follow-up or refund. This lack of accountability and disregard for guest concerns completely ruined our experience and affected the enjoyment of our trip.
