A very nicely furnished hotel which is centrally located in the city. Just minutes off walk to Nottinghill Gate Station. Environment was nice but upon arriving my room, there were two flies inside and I spent quite some time getting them away. I thus had to keep my window shut all the time, so it was quite stuffy inside the room. Mattress was a bit too soft too.

Shockingly bad. The room was absolutely filthy (see photos). Stains on the furniture, stains on the bed, filthy dirty bathroom, stains on the walls. Clearly this wasn’t a “they forgot to clean the room”, this was just the quality of the hotel. The bathroom was in appalling condition. The bed was in appalling condition. The room was in appalling condition. There was a hotel room safe under the bathroom counter… that was not in working order. So there was nowhere to lock up valuables. Overall incredibly disappointing considering the cost of the stay. I’ve stayed in other hotels in London at a similar price and this was not a remotely comparable experience. The staff were friendly enough at the front desk, but when we checked out we weren’t asked how our stay was and I can only imagine the staff have stopped asking or prefer not to ask. Photos posted in Google review: - Stained furniture - Stained bed - Filthy dirty stained bathtub - Stained bathroom ceiling and wall (presumably from upstairs leaking toilet - fecal water stains!?) - Shower head not working (video) - TV not working (video) We were seriously considering leaving on the first day and booking in at a different hotel and just accepting that we would not get a refund. Would not recommend and will not return.

The hotel was fab. PERFECT LOCATION right at Notting Hill Gate. Aaron and the rest of the staff was lovely. The room has great bathtubs and comfortable bedding. Great selection of teas as well. Bravo!

We had a great stay at The Abbey. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The hotel itself was clean and perfect as a base. The dog welcome pack felt a little overpriced at £25 but then again it was nice to find somewhere that would accommodate dogs. Would happily stay again.

Außen hui, innen pfui Wir hatten das Hotel für 2 Nächte aufgrund von einem Kurztrip gebucht sind aber keine einzige Nacht geblieben. Morgens wurden wir von einer sehr netten Mitarbeiter begrüßt, bei welcher wir bis zum Abend unser Gepäck abgeben haben. Dann am Abend der Schock, unfreundlicher und genervter (fast schon überheblicher) Mitarbeiter, der uns unser Zimmer im Untersten Stock (Keller)zeigte, die Zimmertür blieb nicht richtig verschlossen und sah aus als wurde diese schon einmal aufgebrochen. Die Fenster zeigten zum Hinterhof, das Bett war sehr durchgelegen, das Zimmer verfügte über keinen einzigen Spiegel und das Bad war nicht sauber. Zudem machten die Steckdosen Geräusche und funkten. Auf Anfrage konnte uns kein anderes Zimmer zur Verfügung gestellt werden, da das Hotel angeblich ausgebucht war. Wir checkten sofort wieder aus und suchten uns ein Hotel um die Ecke. Wir werden dieses Hotel auf keinen Fall weiterempfehlen.

Das Hotel The Abbey in Notting Hill überzeugt vor allem durch die sehr schöne Lage mitten im einzigartigen Stadtteil Notting Hill. Nur drei Gehminuten von der U-Bahnstation entfernt ist es auch sehr zentral gelegen. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten befinden sich direkt vor der Haustür. Das Haus ist ein typisches für Notting Hill - dadurch ist die Ausstattung teilweise etwas veraltet, v.a. im Badezimmer. Die Toilette und Dusche entsprechen nicht unbedingt dem heutigen Komfort, ansonsten ist das Zimmer jedoch sehr groß, es gibt z.B. viele Ablagemöglichkeiten, einen großen Schrank, ein Bügelbrett und Bügeleisen und einen großen Schreibtisch mit Sessel. Die Mitarbeitenden sind ausnahmslos höflich und zuvorkommend.

Room smelled like poop when we arrived, because there was a big dump in the toilet and not cleaned. Room very small. Window with view to a dirty wall. No elevator. Good location, easy to walk around Notting Hill.

Due to the age of the furniture/ bathroom etc the stay was semi enjoyable considering the price. The location of the hotel is pretty good since the access to the underground is easy and fast. The personal was also very kind and polite. Unfortunately our room did not get cleaned one day for whatever reason. Nevertheless, I won’t book the stay a second time. Thanks and all the best.

Sarah, Michael and Gifty made my stay very memorable. The location of this boutique hotel is perfect for a trek to Portobello Road or grabbing the Notting Hill Gate tube. Please be advised that this is a charming and eclectic hotel. There are no access cards for your room. You get an old fashioned key to lock and unlock your room. I felt safe since the hotel is monitored both by the staff and by CCTV cameras. The main entrance is locked after 8:30 pm so you have to ring the doorbell to be let in. I loved the experience and the staff was lovely.

Morgens um 8:00 Uhr in London angekommen, das Hotel kontaktiert, ob ein frühes Check in möglich wäre. Keine Antwort bekommen. Dann um 14:00 Uhr eingecheckt. Als ich meinen Namen angab, kam lediglich ein Kommentar: „Ah ich hab deine Nachricht auf hotels.com bekommen“. Mein Gedanke, zu diesem Zeitpunkt war: wieso zum Teufel hat man mir dann nicht geantwortet? Insgesamt sind die Zimmer sehr alt, hellhörig und vor allem kalt. Es gab zwar eine zusätzliche Heizmöglichkeit, aber keine entsprechende Steckdose, wo man es einstecken konnte. Insbesondere musste man Angst haben, das ganze Hotel in Brand zu setzen, wenn man ein elektrisches Gerät einstecken würde. die Mischbatterie des Wasserhahn war unmöglich zu bedienen. Des bestand die Wahl zwischen arktischer Kälte und Temperatur des Erdkerns. Zusammenfassend muss man sagen, alter Scharm hin oder her, das Hotel ist alt und heruntergekommen. Und aus diesem Grund buche ich lieber neue, moderne Hotels.

Staff were really accommodating when our flight arrived early they helped us check in early. The hotel is in an amazing location, super close to the district and central line (we took the train from Heathrow with no problems). Having the Portobello markets just around the corner was great as well! The property is cosy, if not a little bit quirky (the bathtub is very small and narrow) but the shower was lovely and hot with plenty of pressure too. Would happily stay here again!
