“The property is just as pictured with sufficient space to accommodate two couples comfortably. The location is very convenient to downtown Highlands as well as local attractions and hiking trails. The beds were very comfortable and the split plan of the house allowed for privacy. The abundant supply of firewood was a great bonus. “Well prior to our stay in Highlands, we received an email from the owner giving all the pertinent instructions and details about this charming vacation home. The house was attractively decorated (with Christmas decor still up) and well furnished. The gas fireplace was a particularly nice feature, as the weather was cold and rainy during our stay. All appliances worked well, as did the TV's and internet service.Had the weather been better, we would certainly have enjoyed the well furnished……

“Very cozy house making it easy to relax and unwind. Although the weather was mostly wet and rainy the house was so comfortable and inviting with the fireplace on porch and the games in the cabinet. We caught up on some Christmas movies and enjoyed cooking a nice meal in the well equipped kitchen.”

“Modestly appointed. We were there for a short weekend reset. We enjoyed the hot tub and remote setting. We couldn’t get the gas fire place going. Management was responsive and tried to talk me through it. But to no avail. ”

“We were impressed from the time we walked in through the door. Just right for my hubby and I. Warm and cozy, comfy beds, all we needed for a very comfortable stay. The location could not have been better. Very nice linens and we loved the eclectic decor. Everything we needed to "set up" our stay in grand fashion. Will most definitely stay here again.. Thanks for such a nice nesting place!”

“My husband, 11 year old son, and I have stayed in either Cashiers, Highlands or Sapphire Valley nearly every Thanksgiving for the past 10 years. We love hiking, tubing and skiing, and the charm of small mountain towns. This was our first stay in Tuckasegee - an ideal location to not only revisit those towns, but centrally located for easy drives to Waynesville, Maggie Valley, Bryson City, Cherokee and others. As for the resort, they've wonderful staff and plenty of activities (both on and off……

“Love this place and will certainly return. Property is quiet and peaceful, but a very short walk from the center of Brevard. Perfect for walking to dinner after a day on the bike. Interior looks recently renovated with charm but many modern touches. Loved the space. ”

“Everything was perfect ”

“My family travels to Lake Toxaway once a year and we love the area. It was our first time to Casa de Yayo. The house itself is great. And the view of the lake is spectacular. The house was not clean (Vacasa offered to come and clean, however we did not want the disruption since we had just arrived). The house could use an instruction book covering things like light switch system, overriding the programs on the thermostats, how to use the sound system, etc. We thought it could be stocked better……
