Great House

Long weekend

House and location were great. Lived the large dock platform and diving board. Drive Was of course very windy but overall a great stay and we would book there again

Amazing View!

The view was amazing, the house was well appointed and the weather was perfect. Your listing warned of the steep driveway, but we were still a bit shocked when we first saw it! We didn’t have any issues however.

Amazing Weekend Get-a-way

We rented Payton's Place for a family vacation. We booked it for 12 people. The house is very spacious, allowing for children to play on a separate floor and adults to hang out on another. We came for the lake fun, but it was amazing to have so many other options to enjoy our time, a porch swing, a hot tub, cornhole, darts, a fire pit and so much more. The kids enjoyed jumping off the dock, while grandparents loved watching from the shore. We love Payton's Place and hopefully coming back again soon.

This place was Awesome! Our family stayed Spring Break here and we absolutely loved it. This spacious home is beautifully remodeled and decorated. Not a tiny detail left out on supplies. So thankful we found this unit. Thanks to the owner’s for sharing and caring.

Payton' place is Perfect!!!

We visited Peytons Place along with our 5 kids in lieu of a party for my husband's 60th bday. We all had so much fun and literally did not leave for anything (other than an urgent care the 1st morning of our stay because my husband came down with bronchitis). This home has everything you need from space for a large group to a relaxing lake front. I have already had a friend want a link to this property for her next girls trip. I looked at alot of homes on different lakes and this one was by far the most economical for its size and absolutely gorgeous in its style. You will not be disappointed in a stay at Paytons Place.

Beautiful home and lakefront access

The home is beautiful and clean. The attention to details is amazing. From furnishings to towels to having basic kitchen and cleaning essentials on-hand is very welcoming. I work remotely and used the wifi to attend virtual meetings during our stay. I had no issues with connection or latency. If you are on vacation and need to do some work while away, the home is equipped to do so. It's a 5-star property with a 1-star driveway. Overall, great stay and home.

My daughter sweet 16

For my daughter 16th birthday we took her and five of her friends. They had the best time and the house was set up amazing. This house has everything you need and is so beautiful. The dock is really nice and has a diving board. You can launch your boat just a few minutes away inside the gated community. We were able to Store Our trailer there. We enjoyed boating up to the tiki hut! And we did her 16th birthday at Shanghai. The atmosphere was amazing. Lots of open space to tube and boat close to the property. The girls enjoyed using the large hot tub and roasting marshmallows by the lake. There are lots of porches and they provide blankets and beach towels. Everything was Nice and spacious The driveway is quite steep and I was glad they had parking on the top of the hill for one larger vehicle and too small. This property was a 10 out of 10, but the driveway is a beast! We will definitely be back.

Fun stay, room for improvement.

Payton’s place is a beautiful home. The views are gorgeous. Loved swimming at the dock. We enjoyed our vacation overall. We wouldn’t rebook this property though and I’ll tell you why (Vacasa Rental) 1. Found a Depends diaper in the lower level by the couch upon check-in. 2. Kayak on the dock not mentioned, messaged Vacasa about use, not helpful, just stated not in agreement. Would have been fun to use, but should be more clearly listed if it’s sitting right there. 3. Hand soap dispensers were all EMPTY. Also ran out of the sad amount of toilet paper in 2 days. I called/messaged with Vacasa and they were so UNHELPFUL and RUDE and SLOW to respond. I wish I had enough characters to copy and paste our conversation. They refused to make it right. Disappointing. Please add to listing to bring TP and hand soap if not providing adequate amounts. FYI parents, no kids dishes. Listing amenities need seriously updated. 4. “Beach” outside is purely rocks and drops off to water. We thought it was a sandy/rocky beach for kids based on photos… No. 5. Driveway was TERRIFYING. You can definitely get 3-4 cars down the driveway but it feels like free falling straight down. And then no where to turn around so you have to BACKUP the drive blindly. There are a few small spots at the top of the driveway but we needed the boat/trailer parked up there. Not to mention you have to bring the trash bins up and down that mountain. We didn’t bother trying to even drive to pool/ playground/golf.

Payton's Place was Perfection, Peaceful and Pure Bliss

Let me start by saying that once we opened the door to Payton's Place we were delighted and immediately impressed with the view and we were thrilled to see that the dock was still in place despite being early November. My husband and I took a 'working' vacation with our dog to grasp at the last bits of summer and this place was the perfect spot to do so. The place was exceptionally clean inside - It was very, very clean! We had some questions for the Vacasa staff, and not only did they respond immediately, the property manager also followed up with us after traditional working hours. I also loved the emails from Vacasa notifying us that we could check in early as the house was ready ahead of the 4:00 check in time! This was delightful as we arrived in town an hour prior to check-in, giving us more time to unpack and enjoy the amazing sunsets from the deck. Maybe because it's fall, but the neighborhood was so quiet and tranquil. The view from the deck of the hillside homes was so beautiful. I mentioned earlier that my husband and I both had to work, which meant logging into our company's VPN and taking multiple video conference calls. The Wi-Fi was exceptional! No dropped calls, no lagging on our extensive spreadsheets. There is limited cell service in the area, you might want to use GPS to find your way to the house once you arrive at the front check-in security booth. We lost our cell and had to pull over to switch to GPS, but had no problems finding the place. Also, very nice that there is a Vacasa sign in front of the driveway announcing that you'd arrived a Payton's Place. The hot tub was AMAZING! So Clean! So comfortable, if you go you have to try out the part of the hot tub that is like sitting in a recliner...it was so soothing, especially after I had spent the mornings paddleboarding with my dog (we brought our own inflatable paddle board). The Powell River was quiet and perfect for paddleboarding. A young buck visited each morning, and did enjoy watching me struggle to bring the paddleboard up the steps. Yes, the steps/ramp going down to the lake are steep but you quickly adjust! Yes, the driveway is steep, just take it slow. There was plenty of toilet paper and supplies. Bring your own coffee, you can make drip or K-Cups. PS the coffee bar is adorable! I loved the collection of coffee mugs, such a nice, cozy decorative touch. Our bed was comfortable, the shower and bath were so nice. Each morning, I felt like I was treating myself to a spa vacation! We went a day trip to Cumberland Gap National Park and enjoyed the view from the Pinnacle and lunch at nieteen 19. We were so lucky to find this gem! Being from Chicago, and noticing the baggo boards, we are hoping that maybe this place was named for Walter Payton!
