I think this is going to be a regular getaway location for us. We love the cabin, communication with Rodney is fantastic, and the location is peaceful/remote yet close to town to grab coffee, dinner, groceries, etc.

Excellent Place!

The cabin is simple yet beautiful and it had everything we needed. The property has great trails and a peaceful feeling. We loved reading books by the wood-burning stove and taking long hikes at a nearby nature reserve. (Our dog loved it!) Rodney is a kind and helpful communicator. We enjoyed everything about our stay.

Gorgeous place to stay

Awesome cabin and well appointed. With rentals these days many have cheap sheets, little to no kitchen items and zero amenities. This cabin has everything you need including a coffee grinder. The screened porch makes all the difference with bug season and there's plenty of space to hang out.

Private Cabin in the Woods

This cabin is situated in a beautiful, quiet woods, located in the perfect spot if you are fly fishing in the Driftless Region. The trails throughout the property are great for hiking and bird watching. The woodpecker species are abundant including a large, noisy Pileated woodpecker who visited every day. We loved the screened in portion of the porch for dining or relaxing in the hammock to the sounds of all the birds. It is an easy drive into Viroqua for groceries or restaurants.

We spent the whole first day by the fire! Beautiful scenery. Songbirds. The cabin is everything we could hope for. Very comfortable. Area trout streams and the town of Viroqua where great places to explore. I've never been to Vernon County but now it's my new favorite place. I will be back and staying at the Vireo Cabin. Highly recommend.

Privacy and Quiet!

The owner went out of his way to be helpful. He is a terrific communicator. The listing is accurate. We enjoyed all our favorite Driftless activities, returning each afternoon to a modern cabin set in a cleared area of a Wisconsin forest. Lots of birds and a most watchable resident woodchuck.

Cozy and Well Equipped Cottage

Attractive, comfortable cabin in the Driftless. Took our teen and dog, enjoyed fishing down the bluff, e-biking around the area, and a few great meals at Driftless Cafe and St. Francis Hermitage. Cabin was well-equipped with good wifi, plenty of kitchen supplies, washer/dryer, great shower (including a hair dryer, towels and soap/shampoo). There were a few dust bunnies but nothing problematic. Can't wait to come here when the weather is warmer and we can enjoy the screened-in porch and firepit. As it was we got in several good hikes. Owner is responsive and rightly warns about the steep driveway! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Family friend get away

Looking for a peaceful place to rest, retreat, recuperate, relax, reconnect , and rejuvenate this is it. We made lots of great memories, playing in the yard swinging on the swing hiking playing in the yard, playing the instruments. Only suggestion would be having a baby gate for the stair case otherwise perfect place. We had the best time but it's never long enough. ( my chief complaint)

Tranquil meeting spot of family.

We love the location, the ability to bring our pups and still have a feeling of tranquility in the woods with the amount yard and trails. Viroqua is a fun town with fun options.
