“After mentioning an issue with the room first allocated to us upon check-in, we were directed to another room, it was excellent… very spacious, view of the river, very clean and lovely bathroom. We had an excellent night sleep in a huge king size bed, it was lovely and quiet especially after closing time. Looking back at what time we checked in, we could’ve timed it better because it was in the middle of food service in the restaurant and it was very busy, so there was a bit of a wait to check……

“It does what it sets out to be very well. Access arrangements were easy and effective, a code. Sent by text for a numbered key safe, and the property spotless. Plenty of good parking. Room large enough for a short stay and with enough shelving for the purpose. Plenty of power points. Bathroom small but very good and an excellent shower with complimentary body wash etc. The only change we would suggest is that for cold nights, a thicker duvet would be good as even with the extra throws……

“The staff are just great! Friendly and helpful. They made our stay. We had the astonishing Byron room. Magnificent This is an event hotel and we stayed on a quiet Sunday evening and had dinner in the restaurant. A good, well prepared meal.”

“31 Castle Gate gave us a very clean and comfortable 2 night stay . Private and quiet accommodation clear instruction re parking facilities. Easy access to shops, cafe and relaxing meal/ drink in the evening sat by the canal. Initial access wasn't granted by the code given but a very quickly answered call gave us access for the stay. Thank you to Daniel - very helpful and he also checked in with us to make sure access was ok . Would use the accommodation again . ”

“I've stayed in several hotels in Nottingham over the years and this is definitely my new favourite. The staff are lovely and genuinely mean when they say if you need anything to ask. The highlight apart from this is the hotel's location in the heart of the city, but away from the thoroughfare. It's lovely and quiet whilst being close to everything you can need. I will definitely book again in future.”
