“We have stayed in the lodges at Loch Rannoch many times; it’s a very special place for us. This was the first time in the winter though. Our recently refurbished Red Deer apartment was cozy, comfortable and well equipped. And of course the view over the Loch to Schiehallion takes some beating.”

“Lodges are lovely and very comfortable. The swimming pool and changing rooms need attention. We stayed in February 2025 and 1 of the 2 showers in the women’s changing room was out of order. We have just stayed there again and it’s still out of order. The working shower is clearly getting overused so the drain blocks quickly and you end up standing in a big puddle of water as it won’t drain. Not the cleanest shower, grout etc either ”

“This truly is a hidden gem. Absolutely stunning location, so peaceful. The cottage has so much room, there were 6 of us yet did not feel on top on one another having the kitchen diner plus snug and upstairs living room. Rooms are spacious and the decor is beautiful. They have literally thought of everything. True home from home. Would love to go back. ”

“This visit was unique. Beautiful modern hotel that is incredibly under staffed. Restaurant was good, but again, under staffed. I think there is/was an ownership transfer recently. Additionally, it is not in Pitlochry. It is 20-30 minutes west. Beautiful area! Small town on the loch with trails, a bridge and a cool waterfall. Over, a good visit. ”

Carried luggage’s upstairs

"The hotel doesn’t have an elevator. I stayed on the first floor. Actually, there is a corridor between the first floor and the carpark with a few steps only. However, the receptionist didn’t told me about that. She simply told me to carry the luggages through the normal entrance and go up one floor “ONLY” . No help had been offered and she clearly knew I got a car. Nowadays, it is not usual asking the lady customers to carry the luggages going upstairs "
