I really don't like to leave bad reviews.
We came to the Ramada to stay in Kingston to finish off our honeymoon. Upon entering, the hotel looks more like a motel that got bought by Ramada, which isn't a big deal, we're not ritzy people. We checked in and started walking down the halls which were not well kept. No wallpaper on the walls, dings and scuffs everywhere and the carpets were shoddy. The front desk attendant informed us that they were doing renovations, but it was a Thursday and we didn't see any contractors or evidence of contractors anywhere.
The room was clean, it had clearly been updated, but the tv wouldn't work, and the coffee maker didn't work. It had been about 5 minutes since we arrived so we went back to the front desk to see if we could just part ways, we didn't feel comfortable there, and we just wanted our money back and we would leave. No harm no foul.
We were instead asked what was wrong with the room. I explained that well the room had been updated, the amenities didn't work, and honestly, we just didn't feel comfortable being there.
Front desk refused a refund and check out, so we were kind of out of luck on that part. We did end up staying and they were able to get the tv to turn on, the picture quality was absolutely awful and fuzzy.
Breakfast was cereal, or microwavable breakfast sandwiches. When we checked out I got a $20 refund because of the tv and coffee maker. Unfortunately I don't think we'll be back
