Hotel is very charming from the outside and around the bar area. Set in a quiet village and is clearly a hill walkers paradise. Clearly not a hotel that is suitable for families with infants.
Positives - Peaceful, Friendly staff, bed was comfortable.
Negatives - Pennine Room (most expensive room in hotel) was filthy. Shower head is disgusting and needs replaced, and when something so obvious is overlooked, it leaves you fearing the worst. Window sills were filthy. Cobwebs everywhere. Light bulbs out. Carpet clearly had a quick hoover over prior to our arrival, but generally still filthy. Really poor when you have an infant who spends most of their time on the floor.
No cleaning and emptying of bins in the morning, so room bin was overflowing.
Food - first nights dinner, the wife and I both had ordered the chicken pie. One was hot and one was cold. No staff member asked how our meal was. I wasn’t hungry so gave wife the hot pie and I ate the chips. Ordered an omelette for our 1 year old and when it finally arrived, it was severely undercooked. Dangerous for a child of this age.
Breakfast service is very slow, fine when it’s adults who can have tea and a chat, but as I said before. Not a hotel setup well for a family with a young child. Floor in breakfast area had bits of food from days prior.
On check out - no one asked how our stay was. Can only assume they expect negative feedback so don’t bother asking.
Really, really poor. Shame
