The Space:
**Mauna Kea Resort will begin renovations in mid-April and will be done in phases. As Member's Guests, you will continue to have access to all areas except for the Mauna Kea Golf Course which will be closed from mid-April until early December. Fortunately, we still have our Hapuna Golf Course available for play.
A new spa will be built on the north lawn, the fitness center will be moved over to the Garden Room (just below) the new spa, and a lap pool will be built below that area. But that area is not really utilized for members or residential guests now so won’t affect any points of access.
There will be some renovations done to certain restaurants at Mauna Kea but these will be short-lived projects. And since guests have access to both hotels there will still be the use of many amenities while you are here.

This luxury single-family home is perched on half an acre overlooking the 5th and 6th holes of the Mauna Kea Resort Golf Course with spectacular ocean and sunset views from the pool, lanai, and most places in the house. Wonderfully crafted with high-quality ceramic tile and Italian stone inside and out and solid Cumaru wood floors. Beautifully landscaped to achieve privacy in the backyard while also maintaining the amazing views. There is a spacious yard and an infinity pool that flows right up to the house. There are stairs on both sides of the pool for easy entrance.
Centrally and conveniently located are the living area, dining area, and gourmet kitchen equipped with everything you need including a sit-in breakfast bar and wine cooler. There is plenty of natural light and the open floor plan is perfect for the family to enjoy tropical Hawaiian indoor-outdoor living.
Surrounding the beautiful, expansive, and top-ranked white sand Kauna’oa Beach the property slopes gradually towards the bay allowing for almost every home on the property to enjoy the spectacular ocean, sunset, and Maui views.

The Neighborhood:
The Mauna Kea Resort community is an upscale resort community with access to the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, Autograph Collection. The Hotel has many amenities and access to arguably the best beach on the Big Island.
Getting Around:
The Big Island has much to see and do and it is highly advised that Guests rent a car to take advantage of the many things this island has to offer. Hawaii Island does not have abundant public transportation, so renting a car is best. However, if you do not drive you may consider hiring a charter tour, driver, or Uber.
Other Things to Note:
*Please note that the Mauna Kea Resort charges a separate $120 per day (per house) resort fee to assume member's guest privileges. This fee is paid upon check-in, at the guest services office located in the Hapuna Hotel lobby (details included with rental agreement). If our Guests opt into the Resort Amenities they will have access to both the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel as well as the Westin Hapuna Hotel. It is well worth a visit to the Hapuna to visit their swimming pools and another world-class beach.
The home was designed to be opened up and cooled with the natural breezes. There is a split ductless Air Conditioning system, one in either bedroom, which keeps the bedrooms cool at night and if all of the windows and doors are closed can even cool the main living area. However, we do encourage tenants to open the house up and use it as the architect intended All the doors and windows have screens to keep the bugs out.
