Good and bad. It’s a beautiful property with beautiful pools. But there’s nothing to do in or around. Food and drink is grossly overpriced, and I speak as someone who had just spent 5 days at the best hotel in Colombo, which was cheap in comparison.
Service which is meant to be friendly becomes intrusive and formulaic. Expect several calls a day to the room. This is what I come on holiday to get away from. For instance, order room service and 5 minutes later a call to see how it is - which means interrupting your meal and answering the phone. In the end I ignored all calls. Unfortunately I could not find a way to silence the room phone, or I would have done. This was exacerbated by the fact that I was added to the WhatsApp of a manager without warning on the day before arrival, and then sent numerous messages trying to upsell services.
There are some security issues. The pool villas cannot be locked. Yes the garden is surrounded by a wall, but it would only take a ladder. I did not like the idea of sleeping in an unlocked room. It would not be an issue but for the fact that a public road bisects the resort by the villas and therefore practically anyone can gain access, as is evidenced by the touts that congregate daily.
