We booked this hotel last minute through Expedia, and the listing mentioned nothing about breakfast. During check-in, the front desk staff told us about the breakfast hours, giving us the impression it was included. The next morning, we had breakfast, but at check-out, we were surprised with a €17 per person breakfast charge. At no point were we informed that breakfast wasn’t included or that it came with an extra fee until the moment we checked out. When I expressed my surprise, the front desk attendant awkwardly pointed to a “hotel policy” sheet, which only listed various hours for amenities and a charge for EV charging. Nowhere did it mention breakfast as an additional charge. I have stayed at numerous hotels, and typically, if breakfast isn’t included, you’re asked upfront if you’d like to add it. Here, it felt like they were trying to take advantage.
The breakfast itself was disappointing. If you don’t arrive early, they don’t restock, so options run out quickly. I was asked if I’d like scrambled eggs but never actually received them.
The spa facilities were outright unpleasant. The pool was cold, not heated, and had clumps of hair floating around – I personally removed three large strands. The steam room smelled strongly of chlorine, making it feel anything but healthy, and the only decent part was the Finnish sauna, which at least maintained a good temperature.
