“Black Ivy is a lovely hotel in the center of Edinburgh right next to the Meadows. Its interior and exterior design is wonderful and artsy, with photography in the hallways and rooms. It's really a gem. Our room had a gorgeous park view out to the Meadows and onto the lovely skyline of Edinburgh. The room was clean and modern and had all the amenities (shampoo, shower gel, hair dryer, etc) and it is ecofriendly. The staff is excellent and super helpful. We had a great stay. The Xmas decoration……

“Booked this hotel as it was close to family we were visiting on a last minute trip. Ample parking on arrival and a very friendly helpful young gentleman at reception, he knew the answer to any questions we had and was so knowledgeable - a real credit to the hotel. We decided to have dinner in the restaurant even though we hadn’t booked and it was no problem at all, there was a small menu and only one vegetarian option but it was really lovely, one of the nicest meals I’ve had in a long time and……

“Liked that it was very cosy, very comfortable bed, exceptionally helpful and polite staff. Liked the dining room and bar areas and the open fires. Impressive to see the pool and tennis courts. Very comfortable and relaxing stay and would definitely go back. Wasn't expecting nearly as much as it delivered. Small constructive criticisms: shampoo is in a container that is inaccessible from the bath; be good to have some loose soap for use there. The exterior (and some interior areas) could do with……

“Nice and cozy flat with all the utilities we need. The location is excellent, and it takes only 15-20 mins walk to the city centre. We stayed for 2 weeks but there’s no house keeping service as arranged, not until we checked with the reception staff, but they are really nice and helpful. We appreciated their prompt actions.”
