“Wonderful older property with beautifully re-done bathrooms. Spacious, clean and comfy bed. We would stay again. Breakfast is packages pastries and fruit - fine for our needs with coffee pot, frig and microwave in the room.”

“Always enjoy staying at this motel, the rooms are dated, but always clean. In a nice location local to Mount Shasta Brewing company, a local brewery that has some of the best beers you’ve ever had!”

“The refurbished building has been well updated. The room was very comfortable and all systems were updated and working well. It was quiet (mostly) with the exception of the trains, which thankfully did not run that frequently. All in all a very nice facility. It is essentially a contactless facility with electronic entry etc. I would stay here again. Dunsmuir is a very agreeable town.”

“ This is my favorite place to stay. I have been staying here since the early 2000s and have stayed at least 10 times (if not more). The Inn is beautifully and meticulously restored keeping with the time-period of the building but adding modern conveniences such as excellent water pressure, comfortable beds, and many other amenities. The owners are so warm and welcoming. I recommend the Mercantile Inn to everyone I know. ”

“1.There is a discrepancy with the checkin time shown on Hotels.com as being 1pm. We arrived shortly before 1 pm, but was told they we’re still cleaning rooms and would not be open for checkin until about 3 pm. 2. Coffee pot provided, but but no coffee or cups for coffee( luckily we brought our own Keurig). 3. Light on one side of the bed and desk did not work (was not the bulbs, we checked). 5. The door going out to the back of the facility was always open/unlocked. Not sure if it even……
