La ubicación es muy buena, hay restaurantes y bares cerca. La habitación está impecable con un baño nuevo. La casa es una pasada. Pero la amabilidad de Álex, lo mejor. Sí vuelvo a Cuba repetiré en este sitio.

2 jours à la Havane
Alex nous a réservé un accueil chaleureux et sympatique. La maison est superbe avec ses vitraux et son style colonial dans un état parfait et la décoration choisie avec soin. La chambre est spacieuse et confortable. Les échanges avec notre hôtes anglophone ont été très agréables, et nous avons reçu une aide appréciable pour trouver un taxi. Encore merci pour ce sejour.

It is nice way to travel to book at a casa. The host is super helpful and can give many information. For other tourists: contact the host before u go to cuba! He will give you good tips. It was our first days in cuba. And cuba is very special for money, internet and electricity. Money wise take some euros or dollars enough. The casa is a very nice building. The room a bit small but it is good enough. Host is fantastic and helpful. We did two casa in la havana. This one is a bit further from the center so it takes some time to walk to the old town. But the area has also a lot to offer and it is way much calmer (people talking to tourist all the time in the old town). Tips : good vegetarian restaurant in the area and one bar for cocktails around the corner with some show. We had a great stay!

Alles prima!
Zum Auftakt unserer kleinen Reise durch Kuba übernachteten wir für zwei Nächte bei Alex. Das Zimmer und das dazugehörige Bad waren angenehm groß, tadellos sauber und mit einer Klimaanlage ausgestattet. Die Nächte waren angenehm ruhig und auf den Matrazen ließ es sich unserer Ansicht nach sehr gut liegen. Die Terrasse befand sich vor der Eingangstür zum Haus. Das Frühstück kostete pro Person 5 Euro. Es gab landestypisch helles Brot, kleine Würstchen, Eier, diverse Obssorten und Honig. Alex war überaus freundlich und sprach ein gutes Englisch. Er war sehr bemüht, uns in allen Fragen weiter zu helfen. Die Strecke zur Altstadt ließ sich gut zu Fuß in ca 30 min bewältigen. Wir waren ganztägig in Havanna unterwegs und befanden, dass Villa Carmita eine sehr empfehlenswerte Adresse für Übernachtungen ist.

It was a pleasure getting to Alex's casa. First of all, once we booked the room he immediately contacted us to make sure we understand how and when to arrive. Alex was kind and helpful, guiding us how to best manage ourselves, as we didn't plan properly and didn't have cash with us, he also helped us acquire the necessary amount in Cuban Pesos so we can enjoy our stay. Furthermore, we asked to leave our luggage and Alex was happy to assist and even offer to leave us the room if no one will book it. Beside the pleasure of having such a wonderful host, the house itself is magnificently beautiful - an old colonial house in the beautiful and lively Vedado, a few steps from the John Lennon park and the Submarino Amerillo pub. It's within a walking distance from Plaza la Revulucion, many restaurants and La Rampa. If you're going to Havana, do yourselves a favor and stay at Alex's in Villa Carmita. It's the best option!

Die Unterkunft ist in einem sehr schönen altem Gebäude aus der Kolonialzeit und liegt in einer ruhigen Straße. Das Zimmer ist groß, sauber und bot alles, was ich für eine Nacht benötigte. Alex, der Gastgeber, ist ein sehr zuvorkommender und hilfsbereiter Mensch. Leider war ich nur kurz dort, so dass ich nicht ausführlicher berichten kann.

Seulement 1 nuit chez Alex qui est un amour !! La maison est magnifique, on a la sentation de dormir dans un palais d'antan. La chambre est nickel et la salle de bain au top (c'est rarement le cas à Cuba). Alex est d'une incroyable gentillesse et vous réservera des taxis sans problème. Je recommande chaudement cette adresse !

Casa estupenda y familia acogedora y cariñosa
La estancia en Villa Carmita ha sido excelente en todos los sentidos. La casa es preciosa, bien cuidada, limpia y la ubicación estupenda, pero sobre todo la pareja que regenta la casa son una maravilla. Hospitalarios y amables en todo momento. Nos cuidaron y trataron como si fuéramos familiares. Desayunamos en la casa todos los días y el desayuno fue muy completo, variado y rico. Fuimos cuatro personas y todos coincidimos en que es totalmente recomendable para alojarse y desayunar en La Habana. Espero volver pronto para repetir estancia en su casa.

The owner offered to change USD to Peso, saying he was an honest man and there were lots of dodgy people on the street changing counterfit peso. He said the bank rate was 110 and he would give us 200. He told us to always come to Alex to change money. Later we foind the shop next door was exchanging for 250 and this was the rate used everwhere. He ripped us off.
