"Beautiful location by the ocean, peaceful and fun vibe. The food was excellent as was the service. The staff were so friendly. We rented bicycles, kids had access to boogie boards, beach chairs (upon request), local charm and flavor with the cuisine and the ppl. The ocean and surrounding area (marina/walkable) were charming. The excursion to the rainforest remarkable. GREAT vaca!!"

"The place is super well kept. The staff is amazing always friendly. Food was perfect. The rooms did have a distinct sewer type smell I did change rooms and the second room was not as bad but still was there it comes from the toilet I’m sure. The roads to get there are awful get ready for that drive. Everything is far rent a car. "

"The Occidental Tamarindo is one of a handful of All Inclusives in Costa Rica. Keep in mind if you’re looking for a Mexican Style “let’s get wasted resort” this is not what you’re looking for. The pace is relaxed and the food at the buffets is local style. If you want steak It’s good but it’s also Not tender like American/Canadian beef. They rate the resort 4/5 stars, really what you have are rooms that would be 3’s, they are ample size comfortable and clean but they were never finished with that 5star building quality to warrant 5 stars. The service is friendly and upbeat, but also laid back. The pool is excellent as is the beach area. Great tours depart from the area and it’s a wonderful place for a great family vacation or couples trip "
