「Plenty of free parking. Received a warm welcome. Was shown to the room and asked what time I wanted breakfast. I was immediately impressed with the pub area, and the corridors to the room. It was tastefully decorated whilst still respecting the old features of the building. The room was also well decorated, and spotless. Biscuits and a vast array of very nice tea bags and some coffee bags too. Only 2 downsides really was no rail to hang clothes, there’s hooks but not ideal. Also...

「Newly decorated room so pristine. Mattress coukd be better as a topper isn't the answer to everything especially on a soft mattress. The bath was big enough for me to gain my 25m breast stroke badge!」

「I like its history and the Staff are excellent. I disliked: a) Wasting so much milk. I only needed a small spoonful. b) Morning shower.......the water was tepid at the most despite the fact that I reported it and was assured it would be better next day. c) Noisy, especially on Friday night. I could feel the bedroom floor vibrating. d) I found the dinner menu very limited after the first evening. 」

「Better than expected for a cheap and cheerful overnight stay, very pleased overall with this Holiday Inn. Staff was very pleasant and efficient. They even called a week ahead to inform us about limited parking to be expected due to boxing match on their premises, so we we sure to arrive earlish. 」

「Such a lovely property. True old fashioned service with a smile. Steve and Barbara were so accommodating. Room clean and had everything we needed. Suggestion for dinner at the local pub was perfect. Breakfast was delicious. Just what we were looking for before heading into London. 」

「Really enjoyed our stay at the Duke of Cumberland! We’ve been coming to Whitstable for years and are pleased to see that this great pub has finally been given some TLC. Whitstable was definitely in need of a nice boutique hotel in the centre of town! 」

「One night stay for a party. Perfect for walking to sea front and town. Room was very spacious with a separate sitting room area. Very clean and lovely breakfast. Would definitely recommend and stay again.」

「Very cosy and warm, steep steps up to room and parking a few minutes walk away. A wonderful view to wake up to overlooking the river Medway. No breakfast inc and it’s not clear reading the other reviews, I think it’s overpriced without breakfast. We enjoyed our stay but I wouldn’t stay here again unfortunately. If you are a light sleeper noisy traffic in the background also. The host was friendly. 」
