Nice property just up the hill from all the action. Due to the big hill to get up here, I don’t consider this walkable, but there is a trolley that comes have half hour or so. I liked being away from the hustle and bustle at the end of the day. It’s just about 3/4 of a mile or so from the main strip. Plenty of parking. From the outside, the hotel looks dated, but inside it is very nice and updated. Staff was super friendly and checked us in quickly and we’re always ready to answer our questions . The view of downtown Gatlinburg from our room, especially at night, is beautiful. Spacious suite , comfortable bed .
I will say I was surprised that it’s a dog friendly hotel. There’s dogs everywhere. I’m a dog lover- and I enjoy seeing and meeting them, but I was shocked seeing one pup relieving himself in the middle of the lobby as he just came in from outside. The owners took care of it quickly- so it wasn’t an issue— but it made me wonder if this is also an issue in rooms when owners are leaving their dogs while going out to dinner.
I’m not knocking hotels for allowing dogs- I think it’s lovely, but curious if they only allow pets in certain designated rooms to prevent rugs and furniture from being ruined or needing extra cleaning. I assume they do, but a good question to ask in the future if I return. All in all, very happy with our stay here at Park Vista.
