My husband and I spent one night at this property for our anniversary. The location is great and is walking distance to everything on Main Street. The cottage was cozy and clean. However, beyond that our experience was not a positive one.
Shortly after arriving we realized that the fireplace didn't work. We contacted the rental office and they stated they would send housekeeping with new batteries for the remote, but no one showed up. Not a huge deal but disappointing.
After returning from dinner we discovered that we had no hot water. I immediately called the rental office to report the issue and was directed by the voice recording to contact another number. I contacted the alternate number only to receive another voice mail. After three attempts, I gave up.
We woke in the middle of the night to a warm, stuffy room and discovered that the wall AC unit was not working.
Upon check-out, I emailed the rental office to let them know about the issues we encountered. I asked for nothing. No apology. No refund or discount of any kind. However, I was met with a barrage of emails questioning whether we called the office, if so when, and could we provide the times of our calls (which I immediately provided). Then crickets.
In summary, we were not able to use the fireplace. The AC didn't work and we had no hot water. They did confirm that the hot water system is shared. So, if your neighbor uses all the hot water you're out of luck.
